Life can be like a complicated maze. In today’s modern world, we are running after a lot of things. Everywhere we turn, a problem might arise as a block. Beyond a point, it can frustrate us, make us hopeless, depressed and exhausted. We might barely get any time for ourselves. Despite all that, we may have achieved a good name, fame and money. A sense of achievement creeps into our mind. But even after achieving everything that we have, do we still feel that inner peace?
A majority of people do feel that inner voidness even after accomplishing everything. But one who trusts in the Lord even after facing all the struggles in life is able to enjoy that innermost peace.
When you come across Philippians 4:6-7 it says,
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
We may send condolences to people saying “rest in peace” but the question is whether we are really “living in peace”? Are you one amongst them searching for utmost peace amidst all the struggles in life.
When it was time for Jesus to leave his disciples and get crucified, Jesus assured His disciples of a never ending peace. He didn’t promise an effortless journey, but rather a peace that surpasses circumstances—a security rooted in faith. In John chapter 14 it says ” Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”. This world is a difficult place to be and God knows that, but we are not alone in this race. As God says in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus is the supreme Peacemaker. Jesus came to establish peace; his message explained peace; his death purchased peace; and his resurrected presence enables peace. He is termed as the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
Embrace the promise, and let the peace of Christ be your beacon.
